广州大东门百年旧当铺将规划成为城市“小博物馆”。记者昨日（29日）从大东门文物管理方、越秀区文化局获悉，修缮完毕之后的百年旧当铺将总体按照文物风格，定位成城市“小博物馆”，专门用于高雅文化、艺术品及古董古玩的展示、展览、展销；或者艺术长廊及艺术家工作室；茶文化展销；酒文化展销等，不得用于传统的商业运营，并确保常年向广大市民免费开放。
　　“好比城市小型博物馆，市民可以在里面免费参观各类高雅文化艺术品”，越秀区文化局副局长董帜强介绍说，如果参观者有购买需求亦可以进行部分艺术品交易，但前提是保证市民免费参观。
　　目前，已有多家不同性质的公司参与竞标，其中有多个竞标者兼有古董爱好者身份。按照规定，使用方不得随意改变该建筑的内外结构，功能使用需要维修、加固、装修或局部改造，而建筑物的日常管理和维护由使用方负责，越秀区文化行政部门将监督确保其“博物馆”功能。
　　大东门旧当铺位于中山四路、越秀中路十字路口上，是一座碉堡形状的古青砖楼，建筑面积约400平方米，为五层混合结构，建于清代，于1999年被定为广州市级文物。
　　2004年，旧当铺因楼体破旧、白蚁侵蚀，住户全部搬离。2006年，大东门旧当铺所在区域、越秀区投资约180万元为这座经历百年风雨洗礼的古建筑“强身健骨”，包括补强、加固、修缮，完全按照修建时期的样貌修旧如旧，修缮工程于去年完成。
